PREPARATION FOR THE GOLDEN AND SILVER JUBILEE CELEBRATIONS

The Sisters of the Holy Rosary are joyfully preparing for the celebration of their Golden and Silver Jubilees, which will culminate in a Eucharistic Celebration on 15 August 2026.

As part of their preparation for this significant milestone, the Sisters spent the entire month of June at Kawinduwindu Retreat Centre in Nkhata bay. The programme was facilitated by Fr. Leo Traynor, who was led formation and reflection sessions on a variety of topics, including community life, prayer life, the Enneagram, listening to one another’s stories, the Paschal Mystery, Marian Dogmas, Leadership and Accountability, and Laudato si’.

The jubilarians being honoured during this celebration are:

Golden Jubilee( 50 years in Religious life)

  • Sr. Annastasia Mphepo

Silver Jubilee ( 25 years in Religious life)

  • Sr. margret Kaseghe
  • Sr. Mercy Chipokosa
  • Sr. Kettie Mjuma Gondwe
  • Sr. Brenda Mtambo

The month-long programme provided an opportunity for the sisters to deepen their relationship with God, strengthen community life and renew their commitment to their religious vocation and mission in the church. Through prayer, reflection and shared experiences, the Sisters were encouraged to appreciate God’s faithfulness in their lives and in the history of the Congregation.

Preparation and renewal before major celebrations have always been an important tradition within the Congregation. This period of formation serves as a foundation for the retreat that will precede the Jubilee celebrations, enabling the Sisters to approach the occasion with hearts full of gratitude, reflection and hope.

As they continue their journey towards this special celebration, the Sisters of the Holy Rosary give thanks to God for His abundant blessings and faithfuness throughout the years , while entrusting the future of their Congregation to His loving care.
