GOLDEN AND SILVER JUBILEE CELEBRATION – SISTERS OF THE HOLY ROSARY

The Sisters of the Holy Rosary in Mzuzu Diocese joyfully celebrated the Golden and Silver Jubilees of Religious Profession on 15 August 2026. The Eucharistic Celebration was presided over by Rt. Rev. Yohane Suzgo Nyirenda, Bishop of Mzuzu Diocese, at St. Peter’s Cathedral Parish.

The Golden Jubilarian, Sr. Annastasia Mphepo, marked 50 years of Religious life, thanking God for His faithfulness and blessings. The Silver Jubilarians—Sr. Brenda Mtambo, Sr. Kettie Mjuma Gondwe, Sr. Mercy Chipokosa, and Sr. Margret Kaseghe—celebrated 25 years of service, also expressing gratitude for God’s guidance.

The event was attended by priests, Religious, families, friends, and the faithful. Choir One from St. Peter’s Cathedral Parish animated the liturgy with vibrant singing and traditional instruments, creating a joyful atmosphere.

In his homily, Rt. Rev. Yohane Suzgo Nyirenda reflected on the Assumption of Mary, encouraging the Sisters to imitate her faith, humility, and openness to God’s will. He urged them to remain faithful, especially in trials.

Speaking on behalf of the group, a Sister thanked God for the gift of vocation and encouraged perseverance in faith despite challenges. She also appreciated the Superior General, Sr. Bernadette Mnyenyembe, and her Council for their support and for making the celebration memorable. Gratitude was extended to all who attended and supported them.

Sr. Christina Banda, the vicar general thanked  the Bishop, clergy, Religious, families, and all guests for their presence and support. She appreciated everyone who contributed to the success of the celebration and prayed for God’s blessings upon them.

The celebration was a joyful thanksgiving for God’s faithfulness and the Sisters’ continued dedication to His service.
