INTRODUCTION
The Sisters of the Holy Rosary, Mzuzu Diocese are implementing the SCORE ECD IV Project in Nkhata Bay District. The congregation started this initiative with SCORE ECD I, and the current phase is a continuation of the previous programs aimed at improving the well-being of vulnerable children and their families in the community.
SCORE ECD IV PROJECT
The SCORE ECD IV Project receives support from the Conrad Hilton Foundation as the donor. In Malawi, Catholic Relief Services (CRS) support the project in coordination with AWRIM to promote quality Early Childhood Development services for vulnerable children and their parents.
AREA OF IMPACTS
The project is being implemented in Nkhata-Bay District under Traditional Authority Nyaluwanga. It covers two Group Village Headmen areas, namely Kalonga and Chipayika villages. The project currently supports 446 household caregivers.
OVERALL OBJECTIVE
The overall objective of the project is to enhance the organizational capacity of AWRIM and its congregations to provide high quality, sustainable and inclusive nurturing care and mental health services to vulnerable children and their parents, including children in early learning programs.

FIELD OFFICERS AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION
Some Sisters are working as field officers, imparting knowledge and skills to communities on Early Childhood Development (ECD) to ensure that children grow holistically in all six developmental domains. The Sisters also encourage communities to care for Mother Earth through activities such as tree planting and environmental conservation.

IMPACT ON BENEFICIARIES
Through this project, many beneficiaries have improved their lives by gaining knowledge and skills in child care, nutrition, parenting and environmental conservation. Parents and caregivers are now able to provide better care and support for children, while communities have become more aware of the importance of protecting the environment for future well-being of children and families.
