It was a wonderful day on Friday, 21 November 2025, at St Peters Cathedral, where Sisters of the Holy Rosary made their first vows, final vows and also a silver Jubilee Celebration.
Sisters Rosaline Mboma, Gladys Phiri, Felistus Kaliwo, Olivette Banda, Aureen Sichali and Nyless Mtonga made their first vows while Sister Tiwonge Silumbu and sister Margret Sophie Luhanga made their final vows.
On the same day, sister Maltilda Kajado Zulu celebrated 25 years in sisterhood.
Bishop Yohane Suzgo Nyirenda led the mass celebration, and in his Homily, he encouraged the sisters to always seek God’s guidance.
Speaking in an interview, Bishop Nyirenda said there are a lot of temptations in the world and the sisters should always pray so that God should strengthen their faith.
Sisters of the Holy Rosary Mother General Sister Benardetta Munyenyembe expressed her happiness, saying that adding new members means that the congregation is growing.
Sister Margret Sophie Luhanga, who made her final vows, said it was a long journey and she was happy that she had made her final vows.
On her part, Sister Olveta Banda from Kapiri Parish in the Archdiocese of Lilongwe said she was happy to join the sisters of the Holy Rosary. She was inspired by the pastoral work of the Sisters of the Holy Rosary and the congregation’s dress.
Priests, Brothers, Sisters from other congregations and the lay faithful were present to witness this significant event.
