As part of the tradition and spiritual responsibility of our congregation, whenever one of our beloved sisters passes on, we organise a visit to her home area to comfort and stand in solidarity with the bereaved family. This gesture reflects our unity, love, and continued bond even in moments of deep sorrow.
Therefore, on this day, 16th April 2026, we, the Sisters of the Holy Rosary, journeyed to Kayoro Zone in Nkhamenya Parish to console the family of our dearly departed sister, Late Sr. Elizabeth Sezi. It was a solemn and emotional visit filled with both grief and faith.
The day began with Holy Mass, celebrated by Fr. Felix Phiri, the Parish Priest of Nkhamenya. In his homily, he emphasised the Christian hope in the resurrection, reminding us that death is not the end but a passage to eternal life. He encouraged the family and all present to remain steadfast in faith, trusting that our beloved Sr. Elizabeth has gone to meet the Lord. Though her physical presence is no longer with us, her spirit lives on in the promise of eternal life.
After Mass, we proceeded to the home village of Late Sr. Elizabeth Sezi, where we met her parents, relatives, and members of the community. With heavy hearts, we shared words of comfort, prayed together, and expressed our deep sympathy and closeness to the family. The atmosphere was filled with sorrow, yet strengthened by faith and hope in God’s mercy.
We remembered Sr. Elizabeth as a devoted religious sister who served God and people with humility, love, and dedication. Her life remains a testimony of faith, and her loss is deeply felt by the congregation, the Church, and all who knew her.
May the Lord grant eternal rest to Sr. Elizabeth Sezi, and may perpetual light shine upon her. May He also grant strength, comfort, and peace to her family during this difficult time.
