The Sisters of the Holy Rosary, Mzuzu Diocese, held a significant vocational occasion on 6 October 2026 at Rumphi Formation Centre, where young women in formation took important steps forward in their religious vocation.
As part of their preparation, the young women participated in a retreat aimed at helping them reflect more deeply on their vocation, their relationship with God, and their commitment to religious life.
The retreat was facilitated by the Vicar General of the Catholic Diocese of Mzuzu, Fr. Isaac Katumbi, who encouraged the young women to discern their vocation prayerfully and remain committed to their journey of following Christ.
During the occasion, four aspirants progressed from the pre-postulancy stage to postulancy, while two postulants advanced to the novitiate stage. These transitions mark important stages in the formation journey of the young women as they continue to discern and deepen their commitment to the Sisters of the Holy Rosary.
The occasion was witnessed by priests, Sisters, formators, and other Christians , who gathered to support and encourage the young women in their vocation. Their presence demonstrated the importance of community support and accompaniment in religious formation.
The Mother General encouraged the postulants and novices to remain focused and committed to their vocation. She urged them to deepen their relationship with God through prayer, regular reading of the Holy Bible, openness to formation, and a spirit of docility. She reminded them that religious formation requires humility, discipline, prayer, and a willingness to learn and grow.
She also expressed her gratitude to the Vicar General, priests, Sisters, formators, and all those involved in accompanying and supporting the young women throughout their formation journey. She encouraged everyone to continue working together in nurturing vocations and helping young women respond faithfully to God’s call.
The occasion was a joyful reminder that vocation is a journey of continuous discernment, formation, and commitment to Christ and His mission. Through their different stages of formation, the young women are being prepared to live the charism of the Sisters of the Holy Rosary and to proclaim the Kingdom of God in love.
