BRINGING HOPE, FAITH AND HEALING THROUGH PASTORAL MINISTRY-SHR

The Sisters of the Holy Rosary are engaged in various apostolates across different dioceses, one of which is pastoral ministry. Through this ministry, the Sisters accompany the faithful, proclaim the Gospel and bring Christ’s love and compassion to the people of God.

In the Diocese of Karonga, Sr. Vertacy Nkhoma serves as a pastoral Sister at St. Mary’s Parish. Recently , she visited the sick and homebound, bringing them Holy Eucharistic and offering prayers for their spiritual and physical well-being. As Catholic, we believe that the Holy Eucharist is the source and summit of Christian life, bringing strength, healing, peace and abundant graces to those who receive it with faith. These visists provide comfort and hope to those suffering from illness and other challenges, while also giving them an opportunity to reflect on the word of God.

In the Diocese of Mzuzu, the Sisters continue to carry out the same pastoral mission. Sr. Aureen Sichali, who serves at Holy Cross Parish ( Nkhamenya), recently visited Kabango Zone to collect Vuna form the Christian faithful. This annual offering is a sign of gratitude to God for the blessings of a successful harvest and helps support the mission and activities of the Church.

Meanwhile, at St. Albert the Great Parish in Mzuzu, Sr. Oliveta Banda conducted a formation session for Wamama wa Chitemwano at St. Mary’s Outstation. Her teaching focused on the significance of the Blessed Virgin Mary as a model of faith, humility, obedience, and discipleship in the Catholic Church. She encouraged the women to imitate Mary’s virtues and embrace her example so that they may grow in holiness and become committed followers of Christ.

Through these pastoral ministries, the Sisters of the Holy Rosary continue to share the Good News, strengthen the faith of the Christian community , and serve God’s people with dedication and love.
