Principal of St Patrick’s home craft centre in Rumphi district, Sister Deborah Nkunika, has revealed plans of adding computer and hair dressing programs with an aim of enrolling many women to be self-reliant.
She made the remarks on Wednesday during a graduation ceremony of 33 women who have completed an informal apprenticeship program of tailoring and fashion design, food production.

Sister Nkunika has encouraged the graduates to work extra hard and drive positive change in their lives and communities.
The Director of Programmes and Training at Technical Entrepreneurial Vocational Education and Training Authority(TEVETA), Modesto Gomani, has highlighted the importance of women’s participation in national economic development and growth.
Gomani has also encouraged the graduates to focus on establishing their own businesses and creating jobs for others.
However, one graduate, Memory Milazi, said she has plans to start her own restaurant business and employ others in the future.
