Departure of Sister Nthala

We the Sisters of the Holy Rosary would like to express our heartfelt thanks to you all, for your condolences, your so consoling words conveyed to us at this time of bereavement, and your deeply felt sorrows and sadness when our dear Sister Theresa Nthala left us.

Sister Theresa Nthala one of the first councilors of our congregation, left us on the 9th June 2011 and was laid to rest on the 11th June 2011. Sr. Theresa Nthala was indeed a person who valued her Christian and consecrated life. She whole heartedly served the poor people, the sick and the marginalized. She also was a servant in our Institute, whether her service was appreciated or not. She had a similar attitude towards the Church of Malawi. She always gave the example of a devoted religious, who never compromised with the mission entrusted to her. She shared with us all her gifts of faith and deep Christian convictions. She also shared with us her talents in planting and caring for fruit trees in each community she stayed and how to look after poultry. She has lived closely with her Lord Jesus Christ and with her beloved Mother Mary. During her last days which she had to pass through very painful and trying moments, she kept on calling the help of Jesus, Mary and Joseph to help her endure the pain and strengthen her faith up to the end. We believe and trust that now Sister Theresa Nthala is in her eternal joy, where she may find what she had believed, hoped and prayed for all her life.

“May Sr. Theresa Nthala rest in the Peace and Joy of the Risen Lord Jesus Christ and His Holy Mother, Queen of the most Holy Rosary”

We are grateful for your being with us in this time of mourning, for your prayers, support and all the assistance given to us. May the good Lord bless you always and all your undertakings.

Sincerely yours,

Sr. Mariarosa Phiri SHR
